SIUE Alumni Make Career Advances in Respective Fields
Two SIUE alumni have advanced their careers, bringing their knowledge and expertise to new leadership positions.
Matthew Asselmeier is the senior planner for Illinois’s Kendall County and will work with portions of the county on zoning and planning. Asselmeier earned a bachelor’s in political science in 2002, and a master’s in public administration in 2003, both from SIUE.

Valerie Belusko has also accepted a new role as the Community and Economic Development program coordinator for the University of Illinois Extension office in Montgomery County.
Belusko achieved a bachelor’s in liberal studies from the SIUE College of Arts and Sciences in 2005.
