SIUE School of Nursing Honor Society Nationally Recognized
The SIUE School of Nursing’s honor society of nursing has received its eighth chapter key award for excellence in chapter-related activities. The Epsilon Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) was honored at the 43rd Biennial Convention in Las Vegas in mid-November.
Chapter key awards honor STTI chapters that excel in chapter-related activities such as membership recruitment and retention, publicity and programming, professional and leadership development, and local, national and international collaboration.
Dr. Chris Durbin, Epsilon Eta president and associate professor of primary care and health systems nursing, and Dr. Ann Popkess, chair and assistant professor of primary care and health systems nursing, received the official key on behalf of SIUE.
The SIUE Epsilon Eta Chapter was chartered in 1980. It is open to nursing students and leaders who meet established academic and professional criteria both at graduate and undergraduate levels and to community nursing leaders. The society is concerned with the advancement of professional nursing through scholarship, research and practices.
