SIUE Alum Wins St. Louis American’s 2015 Excellence in Education Award

Bessie Bennett Peabody, a three-time alumna of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, has won The St. Louis American’s 2015 Excellence in Education Award.
Peabody will be honored with other awardees at the 28th annual Salute to Excellence in Education Scholarship and Awards Gala Friday, Sept. 25 at the America’s Center Ballroom. Peabody received a bachelor’s in 1963, master’s in 1967 and education specialist degree in 1971, all in elementary education from SIUE.
