Heroic SIUE Student Awarded for Saving Lives

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville student Cole Seifert has been honored with the Golden Lifeguard Whistle Award for saving the lives of three people while lifeguarding this summer. The Holishor Association in Holiday Shores presented the award in September.
Seifert is a freshman in the SIUE College of Arts and Sciences who worked this summer as head lifeguard on Votruba Beach in Holiday Shores. The Edwardsville Intelligencer detailed Seifert’s heroic acts and acceptance of the award in an article posted Thursday.
