SIUE Men’s Golf Honored as All-Academic Team
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) has recognized the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men’s golf team as an All-Academic Team for the fifth consecutive year.
SIUE is one of three Ohio Valley Conference honorees, along with Belmont and Morehead State. Awards were presented to 90 NCAA Division I programs.
“Our student-athletes have put in a lot of time off the golf course and should be proud of receiving this award,” said Derrick Brown, director of golf at SIUE. “This is another well-deserved honor for our team.”
The Cougars achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.201 for the 2014-15 academic year. To qualify for GCAA recognition, programs must achieve at least a 3.0 GPA.
