Rooftop Garden Flourishes at SIUE
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville researchers are harvesting delicious produce that’s been grown in special mesh “GroSoxx” placed on a campus rooftop.
The goal of the rooftop garden is two-fold: to aid in research, as produce is being grown in three different types of soil, and to produce vegetables that are served and enjoyed on campus. The project is led by Bill Retzlaff, professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at SIUE.
Filtrexx, the company that installed the GroSoxx, details the success of the SIUE rooftop garden in this video.
