SIUE Alum Hightower to Retire as Leader of Edwardsville School District

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville alum Edward Hightower has announced his retirement after serving as the superintendent of the Edwardsville School District for the past 19 years.
Hightower earned both a bachelor’s in physical education in 1974 and a master’s in education administration in 1977 from SIUE. He later earned a specialist degree from the SIUE School of Education in 1991. He served on the Southern Illinois University Board of Trustees for 12 years.
