Kimberly Baptist, a third-year student in the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine, has been awarded the 2015 Foundation Dental Student Scholarship Award worth $1,000. The distinguished award comes from the Oral Health Foundation of the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
“As a recipient of this award, Kimberly has demonstrated qualities of integrity, imagination and initiative,” said Gary Lowder, D.D.S., of the Foundation. “This scholarship has a proud tradition for its presentation to a dental student with great potential for development into an outstanding leader in the dental profession.”
The aspiring dentist is a native of Mount Prospect. She was selected by the School’s faculty to receive the award.
“It feels good to be recognized for my hard work these last three years, and I hope to keep myself just as excited about dentistry and public service throughout my dental career,” Baptist said. “This award will undoubtedly assist me in my future endeavors to become the best dental practitioner I can be.”
