SIUE Track and Field Accepts Humane Society Award
SIUE men’s and women’s track and field accepted the Educational Group Award Saturday from the Metro-East Humane Society for their volunteer work with the program.
SIUE track and field has been volunteering at the MEHS Wag ‘N’ Walk since 2009, serving as course marshals and finish line workers. The award recognizes their support and commitment to the organization.
“We are honored to be recognized by and associated with MEHS,” said Head Coach Eileen McAllister. “We congratulate MEHS on their 30th anniversary. They are an asset to the community. We have a wonderful partnership and look forward to continuing to support their organization.”
The award is in conjunction with the 30th year of MEHS. Over the past 30 years, they have played a role in finding permanent, loving homes for tens of thousands of abandoned and neglected animals.
