Huffstutler Named Interim Chief Information Officer at SIUE

Steven Huffstutler, director of Academic and Client Support Services, has been named interim chief information officer (CIO) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Huffstutler will officially assume his new duties on Monday, May 4.
Among his many achievements in 23 years of serving SIUE, Huffstutler helped choose and implement SIUE’s first learning management system. His professional accomplishments at the University include:
- Chair of eLearning Task Force for New Reality
- Member of the New Reality Steering Committee
- Creator of the Faculty Technology Center
- Chair of Academic Computing Council
Huffstutler received his bachelor’s in mass communications in 1989, and his master’s of education in instructional technology in 1996 from SIUE.
Huffstutler replaces Jennifer Vandever, who has resigned to assume duties as senior director of IT administration at Washington University.
