SIUE’s Music Department Presents Faculty Chamber Music Showcase Concert
Audiences will enjoy a musical journey spanning the Classical, Romantic and contemporary periods during Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Faculty Chamber Music Showcase concerts on March 20 and March 22.
The first concert will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, in Dunham Hall Theater on the campus of SIUE, according to Dr. Lenora-Marya Anop, professor in the Department of Music and coordinator of the Faculty Chamber Music Showcase. A repeat performance will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 22, at Christ Church Cathedral, 1210 Locust St. in St. Louis.
SIUE faculty will perform instrumental and vocal works by Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Ewazen and Messiaen.
The University’s Faculty Showcase concerts are presented twice a year. “The concerts are always very well received because they are on such a high level of performance,” said Dr. John Korak, professor in the Department of Music and one of the concert performers. “The repertoire is quite varied from the 18th Century to the 21st Century. There is a lot of variety of musical styles and sounds.”

Ticket costs for the March 20 concert are $12 for general admission and $9 for seniors and those under the age of 18. SIUE students with a valid student ID are free. Tickets are available at the Dunham Hall Fine Arts Box Office, or by calling 618-650-2774.
The March 22 concert is free and requires no ticket.
