12th Annual Center for Spirituality and Sustainability Leadership Awards Dinner
The Center for Spirituality and Sustainability on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville will hold its 12th annual Leadership Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 11, at 7 p.m. The event will take place at the LeClaire Room on the N. O. Nelson Campus of Lewis and Clark Community College in Edwardsville.
The Center bestows two awards: Spiritual Leadership and Leadership in Sustainability. The dual awards reflect the Center’s mission to promote humanity’s sacred connection to the Earth and each other. This year’s recipients are:
Spiritual Leadership Award: Rev. Charles Burton – for his leadership as president of the board of United Congregations of Metro-East whose mission is to be a powerful organization committed to combating the root causes of systemic injustice in our region by uniting people of faith to transform our communities.
Sustainability Leadership Award: Nan and Neil Adams – for their leadership in the promotion, education and preservation of Illinois’ prairie heritage, working tirelessly for many years in collaboration with organizations such as the Sierra Club and The Nature Institute.
