Syllabus Template Update

Based on input from faculty members, the ITS Accessible Syllabus Template , part of the IDLT Teaching Toolkit , was recently updated for the spring 2024 semester.
Among the changes are the option for the syllabus template, previously configured for online classes, to be utilized for any course modality (face-to-face, blended/hybrid, or online). Another major update is the removal of the University policies, guidance language, and student support information from the syllabus template. This material was transferred to an online site where it can be easily and frequently updated without requiring a new version of the syllabus template to be released. These updates, along with updated best practices, reduce the overall length of the syllabus template, but also ideally makes it more useful for all faculty members.
The syllabus template is available as a resource for all faculty to voluntarily adopt and utilize. Faculty members with questions about the syllabus template can contact IDLT at (618) 650-5500 or help@siue.edu Faculty interested in discussing course design are encouraged to schedule a meeting with an instructional designer by using the IDLT consultation request form .
