Cascade CMS - Did You Know?

Cascade is the website content management system that SIUE has been using since 2013.
The move to Cascade from our previous system, Luminis, was a huge upgrade in terms of features, functionality, & stability.
If you are an end user who has access to Cascade, you can obviously update your department web pages using Cascade, but did you also know...
- On the Cascade dashboard, end users can customize the data on that page by adding or removing widgets using the "Add Widget" button.
- You can add tasks to complete and assign due dates and assign these tasks to others in your group.
- Notifcations are shared here. Which include updates on changes you make to pages, content that may have been published by you & if they have been completed, etc.
- In the upper right corner, in the menu, you can view "Reports". Which can show you broken links, site analytics, etc.
- Under the "My Content" button in the Cascade header, you can view your recent content, content you own, drafts, tasks assigned to you, etc.
- When editing a page, you can add Comments for yourself or others in your web editing group. Just click on the "Comments" button above the page to leave a comment.
- Clicking on the "Details" button next to "Comments" will give you all kinds of info about the page you're viewing, such as who created it, who edited it last, etc.
- And one last tip, did you know there is a hidden link on each live web page that will take you right into Cascade and open up that exact page to edit? So no more logging into Cascade and clicking through a few folders to browse to the page you want to edit. Just go to the live page in your web browser that you want to edit and go to the bottom black bar. To the left of the envelope (Office 365) icon, there is a hidden transparent .gif. If you hover over it, it can be clicked. When you click it, it will take you right to that page in Cascade. Pretty cool eh? That's certainly a convenient time saver.
There are a lot of useful features for end users within the Cascade CMS. Maybe next time you're in there, give them a look!
