Share a Single Video
What does it mean to share a video? Sharing a video allows other to see a video in your YuJa library. Sharing does not give them a copy of the video; however, users may have to option to create a copy your video depending upon the access level you choose.
There are four access levels to share a video:
-
Full access – users can see, edit, and delete the video in your library. Use this setting with caution. If a user deletes a video, it is gone from your library.
-
Edit access - users can see and edit your video but they cannot delete it. Use this setting if the viewer wants to make a copy of your video.
-
Edit caption access – users can only edit the captions on your video. Use this setting for GAs or TAs that will be captioning your video.
-
Read Only – users can only view your video. Use this option if you do not want the users to have any edit access.
Follow these instructions to share a video: https://kb.siue.edu/117499.
Users will access this video by logging into YuJa and clicking on the “Shared with Me” in the left menu.
Sharing Folder
What if you have many videos to share? Create a folder, move the videos into that folder, then share the folder.
Follow these instructions to share a folder: https://kb.siue.edu/119037. Sharing folders use the Full Access, Edit Access and Read Only. Currently, Edit Caption Access is not available at the folder level.
When setting an access at the folder level, that access level will filter down to any sub-folders and media in the folder. Changing the access level at the sub-folder level or media level will override the main folder access.
Users will access the shared folder by logging into YuJa and clicking on the “Shared with Me” in the left menu.
