Running the Course Accessibility Report in Blackboard
Posted September 14, 2022
By IDLT
In the last edition of the ITSpotlight, we discussed what Blackboard Ally is, how it can help you increase the accessibility of your course, and how this is beneficial for students. We briefly touched on the Course Accessibility Report. This is a good starting point to see the big picture of where the content in your course is scoring with accessibility.
To run the report, navigate to Course Tools in the left navigation under Course Management. Then, click the Accessibility Report. At the top of the report, you will see two tabs, Overview and Content. The Overview tab shows the accessibility score for the course, course content grouped by content type, and a list of all issues identified in the course. The Content tab shows you the content with accessibility issues. View the scores.
- Low (0-33%): Needs help! There are severe accessibility issues.
- Medium (34-66%): A little better. The file is somewhat accessible and needs improvement.
- High (67-99%): Almost there. The file is accessible, but more improvements are possible.
- Perfect (100%): Perfect! Ally did not identify any accessibility issues, but further improvements may still be possible.
Stay tuned for the next edition of the ITSpotlight for additional information on interpreting the accessibility score.
