Here are some hidden and useful iPhone tips and tricks you may not have known about.
Adjust the flashlight intensity
Need to make your iPhone flashlight brighter (or dimmer)? Swipe for Control Center, apply a firm hold to the Flashlight icon, and a slider to adjust the brightness will be displayed.
Use backspace in Calculator
Ever hit the wrong number in the Calculator app? It can be frustrating to clear all of your calculations with the C or AC button after mistyping a digit. To avoid this, simply swipe to the left or right at the top screen where the numbers are displayed. The swipe motion will act as a backspace and remove the number.
Use the keyboard as a trackpad
Notice a typo after you’ve already written a long text? Hold the space bar on the keyboard to turn it into a trackpad. While holding down the space bar, move your finger around the ‘trackpad’ to move the cursor throughout the text.Secure your notes
The Notes app is a jack of all trades for storing information. But sometimes you may want to secure certain notes. You can choose to password protect certain notes with sensitive information. Go to Settings, Notes, Password, and you’ll be able to enter a password for locked notes. Then open the Notes app, select options in the top right corner, hit the Lock icon, and enter the password to lock the note.
Fall asleep listening to music
Enjoy falling asleep to your favorite music? Set a timer to stop the music after a certain amount of time. Open the Clock app, select Timer and select the When Timer Ends option. Instead of having it play a ringtone when the timer goes off, instead choose the Stop Playing option located at the bottom of the screen.
Safari tabs search feature
I think we all have numerous Safari tabs open at once. This makes it difficult to find the tab you’re looking for. Fortunately, there is a way to search your Safari tabs. Simply rotate your phone so it’s in landscape mode (make sure Portrait Orientation Lock is off) and you’ll have access to a search feature in Safari.
Quickly choose a camera mode
Ever get tired of opening your camera app and having to search for the correct mode? Instead apply a firm hold on the camera app icon and you’ll get access to a shortcut list of different camera modes to choose from.
Free up space by deleting unused apps
Need to free up some space on your iPhone? You can do so by removing apps you never use. Go to Settings, General, iPhone Storage, and enable Offload Unused Apps. If it removes an app you wanted, you can always install it again.
