Multi-factor Authentication Now Available for SIUE Accounts
Posted August 13, 2021
by Matt Schmitz
Beginning in September, multi-factor authentication (MFA) will be enabled on all SIUE employee e-ID accounts. MFA is a secure authentication method that requires users to verify their identity by supplying multiple credentials (or “factors”) during the login process. One factor is something users know, such as an e-ID and password. Other factors are verification methods that users have in their possession, including an authenticator app on a mobile device or a passcode received via text message.
Although the move to MFA is scheduled for September, the service is available now, and users are encouraged to sign up early by using the request form at: https://www.siue.edu/its/mfa-setup/.
