The Best Podcasting App

Podcasting has taken off in recent years. It seems like everyone has at least 1 or 2 pocasts that they are listening to. And if you listen to podcasts, you probably have a podast app that you like. I mean, there are a lot of them out there that work just fine.
But if you are one of those folks who hasn't yet dove into the wonderful world of podcasts, then this article may be for you.
Podcasts are essentially just recorded audio files that are put online that you have the option of subscribing to through a podcast application. What's great about the podcast app is that all of the podcasts you subscribe to are delivered right to your podcast app so you can listen to them all from one location. And they are delivered to your app when they are released. So you don't have to go looking for them to see if new episodes are out yet. If there is a new 'sode out, it will be in your app shortly.
There are sooo many podcasts available now on just about any topic you can think of. There are podcasts that cover your favorite sports teams, story podcasts, technology news podcasts, podcasts from various radio shows that put out segments that air on terrestrial radio...just about anything you can think of. A simple search in a podcast app will turn up quite a few. And they're free!
So which app should you use? Well, there are a lot of apps out there that do a lot of things. But Pocket Casts is simply the best at providing a streamlined, intuitive interface to collect and enjoy podcasts. But it's most useful feature is probably the ability to sync files between devices using the cloud (as long as you create an account). Pausing and then resuming an episode exactly where you left off between phones & tablets is a fantastic feature that isn't found on other apps.
Pocket Casts is free.
If you wish, there is a $0.99/mo. option to sign up for Pocket Casts +Plus, which provides a desktop web player, extra themes, extra app icons & 10gb of cloud storage.
