Scanning Documents with Your Smart Phone

Today you don't need a flatbed scanner to scan documents & images to send via email, text attachment, or to archive and keep.
All you need is a smartphone (which is more expensive than a flatbed scanner, but let's not dwell on details...besides, most people already own a smart phone) and a scanning app which uses your phones camera as the scanner.
CamScanner is an excellent app for scanning documents, ID Cards, QR Codes, etc. It allows you to scan a document, name it and send a .pdf or image of that scan to someone in an email or text. You can also quickly save it to cloud storage (Google Drive, DropBox, etc.), which is extremely handy if you need to access that document from anywhere.
There are many scanning apps out there. But Can Scanner is one of the best. The free version does quite a bit and is probably fine for 95% of users. There is a yearly license fee for the professional version if you need the extra features.
CamScanner has a lot of features to fine tune your scans. It auto crops the edges of the document and allows you to adjust that to our liking, you can also adjust the lightness & darkness of the scan to suit your likingm, you can add scanned pages to a pdf file to make a multi-page pdf, plus a lot of other features to play with.
Another option for you Google Drive users is within the Google Drive App. It has a built in scanning feature to scan docs directly into Google Drive if you like. It's not quite as fully featured as CamScanner, but if you don't need the extra features, it's quite simple and it may be perfect for you...and if you have the Google Drive app, you already have this option on your phone.
CamScanner is available on Google Play & the Apple App Store
