IMPORTANT: If you are a student who is having trouble taking an online exam or submitting an online assignment, you should call the Help Desk at 618-650-5500. You should also inform your instructor as soon as possible. 

To serve you as quickly as possible, please have the following information ready:

  • Course and section number (e.g., BIOL 150-001)
  • The Browser are you using (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.)
  • Assignment/test/item you are having trouble with (e.g., Quiz 5)
  • Where the trouble item is located (e.g., Week 5 folder)
  • Any error messages and the steps you took to reach the error

Self-Help Option

SIUE ITS Knowledge Base

  1. Navigate to kb.siue.edu to access the ITS KnowledgeBase (KB) which is full of help and troubleshooting articles.
  2. Enter your keyword (ex. Blackboard, MyMathLab, etc.) in the search field at the top of the window.
  3. If you are having an issue, check the “known issue” articles first by searching “known issue.

In all communication with ITS, please include the following information so we can serve you better:

  • Course and section number (e.g., BIOL 150-001)
  • Assignment/test/item you are having trouble with (e.g., Quiz 5)
  • Where the trouble item is located (e.g., Week 5 folder)
  • What Browser are you using (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.)
  • Include any error messages (screen capture if possible) and as many details as possible (e.g., The submit button would not work)
  • Copy your instructor on this email so that they know about your issue.
