When and how do I close my IACUC protocol?

An IACUC protocol must be closed when all research and/or teaching activities involving animals have concluded. The Principal Investigator is responsible for informing the IACUC of the study status and closing the protocol prior to the protocol’s expiration date.
Please note, once a protocol has been closed, it CANNOT be re-opened, and a new protocol will need to be submitted.
In order to close a protocol in Kuali Research, go into your protocol and on the right-hand side of the page, select “Close.” You will need to answer a few questions and then submit the close request.
