Qualifications

 Currently enrolled in a graduate program at SIUE • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Cascade, Teams (or other virtual settings) • Understanding of Graduate School functions, experience in accounting and electronic process generation, and ability to train others is preferred.

Position Description

 Job Title: Graduate Assistant – Outreach & Operations Department/Program: The Graduate School Position Summary: The Graduate Assistant – Outreach & Operations will support the outreach initiatives of the Graduate School by assisting in the development and implementation of outreach strategies. This position will involve engaging with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners, to promote awareness of departmental programs.

Key Responsibilities: 1. Assist in creating content for online modules: Collaborate with departmental staff to create comprehensive online modules covering graduate assistant contracts, hiring a full-time or part-time employee, and job change request forms on grant accounts. Also includes creating an online module for improving mentoring students online course for required responsible conduct of research training and module for campus resources for graduate students.

2. Coordinate outreach activities: Organize and coordinate outreach activities such as in-person and virtual informational sessions, workshops, and presentations of modules.

3. Update and Assess Frequently Asked Questions: Develop materials to effectively communicate frequently asked questions. Update and maintain current frequently asked questions on website.

4. Collect and analyze data: Collect data related to outreach activities and initiatives and assist in analyzing the effectiveness of outreach strategies, including evaluation and follow-ups.

5. Collaborate with stakeholders: Work collaboratively with departmental staff, faculty, and students to identify additional outreach opportunities and develop strategies to reach target audiences.

6. Provide administrative support: Perform various administrative tasks in support of The Graduate School. This includes initial review of Post-Award documents, PI Power BI Dashboard, some accounting functions, and Pre-Award initiatives, website maintenance, and other duties as assigned.

Duration and Hours: This is an in-person graduate assistant position, with 10 hours per week, beginning in the Spring 2025 semester. Position is renewable if warranted.
