Book Club: Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor by Layla F. Saad

In this workbook group readers will work through a set of challenges that Layla Saad lays out in her Me and White Supremacy workbook. The challenges are aimed at helping White people to better understand White supremacy and how to take responsibility for disrupting and dismantling it.

More specifically, Me and White Supremacy contains 28 days of activities. Each day’s activity involves a short reading and then reflective journaling about a set of prompts related to the issues discussed in the reading. At each meeting we will discuss one week’s worth of challenges.

The group will meet 4 times, 2 weeks apart, thus allowing 2 weeks for completion of each 7 days’ worth of challenges. As recommended by Saad, the meetings will use The Circle Way approach, with rotating leadership. (We will not be able to form a literal circle via Zoom, but we will use The Circle Way method and principles).
