Job Description/Responsibilities
The School of Nursing at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) invites applications for a full-time Clinical Track Assistant Professor position. SIUE is a Doctoral/Professional University, committed to high-quality student instruction and professional development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to nursing education through didactic, clinical, and online teaching across undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.
Key Responsibilites
• Deliver high-quality didactic, clinical, and online instruction in undergraduate and graduate nursing programs.
• Apply clinical expertise in relevant nursing fields to enhance student learning experiences.
• Maintain active clinical practice in alignment with the faculty role.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives, evidencebased practice translation, and/or research in clinical settings.
• Provide mentorship for Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student projects.
• Collaborate with faculty and healthcare partners to advance nursing education and practice.
• Participate in service activities within the university, professional organizations, and the broader nursing community.

A significant point of pride for our school is the SIUE We Care Clinic, located on the East Saint Louis campus just 25 miles from SIU E's main campus. The clinic offers a full range of services to patients in a historically underserved area. The clinic exemplifies our mission and its commitment to health equity, diversity and community engagement. Other points of pride are the innovative teaching strategies that have received local, state, and national scholar recognition through grants and awards. Since 2012, the School of Nursing faculty has been involved in research and program grant funding over 30 million dollars. Funding support for faculty research has included prestigious sources such as the U.S. Department of Health, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, National Institutes of Health, Illinois Board of Higher Education, Illinois Department of Public Health, the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

Minimum Qualifications
• A graduate degree in Nursing is required. Additionally, candidates must have a Doctorate degree (PhD, EdD, DNS, DNSc, DNP, DNAP) for a faculty position.
• Clinical expertise in psychiatric-mental health, community/public health, or related areas ( other clinical specialties may be considered).
• Teaching and/or clinical experience in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing programs.
• Experience with mentoring DNP student projects (preferred).
• Scholarship experience related to Quality Improvement Initiatives, evidence-based practice, or clinical research (preferred).
Terms of Appointment
Continuing tenure track academic year (nine month) appointment or tenure track beginning August 16, 2025
