Job Description/Responsibilities
The Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine is seeking applications for a full-time tenure track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the Department of Surgical Sciences and Community Care, Section of Periodontology. Responsibilities include teaching in the pre-doctoral program and post-doctoral programs, as well as independent research and service to the University. Working in collaboration with other faculty, both in research and in teaching, is encouraged.
Minimum Qualifications
- A D.M.D. or D.D.S degree, specialty training in Periodontics and American Board of Periodontology eligibility or certification are required.
- Previous teaching experience and/or a record of research accomplishment through publication and external funding are desirable.
- Candidates holding an M.S. degree are preferred.
- Applicants must be licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Illinois, or be able to meet the requirements for Illinois licensure.
- Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Intramural faculty practice is available.
