Job Description/Responsibilities
The Accounting Department of Southern Illinois University's School of Business seeks applicants for one tenure-eligible assistant professor beginning August 2025 (subject to budgetary approval). The candidate's responsibilities will include developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses. Candidates with a teaching specialization in the areas of accounting systems, auditing and/or financial accounting are particularly encouraged to apply but all teaching areas will be considered. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching and scholarly research. The Department offers AACSB Accounting-accredited programs at both the undergraduate and master's levels.
The Accounting Department offers a BS in Accounting as well as a Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA). The MSA has a tax specialization and a business analytics specialization. The Department has nine full-time faculty, over 160 undergraduate majors, and over 50 MSA students. There are approximately 2,000 students in the School of Business.
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is a public, comprehensive, regional university with an enrollment of approximately 12,000 students. Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or be ABD nearing completion of a doctoral degree in Accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution. Candidates must be qualified as Scholarly Academic by AACSB standards.
