Overview
Health Care and Nursing Administration at SIUE
The Health Care and Nursing Administration (HCNA) program in SIUE's School of Nursing prepares nurses for entry into management positions in health care organizations, and refines the skills of experienced nurse managers to mentor them for executive-level positions. The courses assist graduates to become credentialed nurse executives through exams sponsored by organizations such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the American Organization of Nurse Executives Credentialing Center, with appropriate work experience in an administrative role. The program includes 315 practicum hours. Out-of-state students applying for this program are strongly encouraged to discuss clinical requirements with the assistant dean of graduate programs. Clinical arrangements are not able to be made in all states.
