Biography:
About Me. I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sociology here at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). I earned my PhD in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin in August 2024. I am driven by a passion for education and a desire to connect and inspire the next generation of scholars.
Teaching Interests. I strive to emphasize empathy, belonging, the art of breaking down complex ideas, and to help students understand their place within broader societal structures. Drawing from my experience working with in high schools, community colleges, and four-year institutions, I am dedicated to mentoring and guiding students as they discover their passions and strive to reach their fullest academic potential.
Research Interests. My current research focuses on examining perceptions of generative AI and exploring the nature of knowledge in the "info-glut" era (Luker 2008). I am committed to collaborative, student-centered research, and look forward to developing future projects that engage students in community-oriented projects in the future.
Other interests. Scholarship of teaching and learning, higher education, social psychology.
