Welcome to Applied Communication Studies
The SIUE Department of Applied Communication Studies (ACS) offers undergraduate and graduate-level coursework, focusing on communication in interpersonal, organizational, health and public relations. Our undergraduate and graduate programs allow students to acquire knowledge and skills in various areas of applied communication studies as well as apply their newly acquired expertise through hands-on activities, service learning and guided internships.
Applied Communication Studies is a high-demand minor for majors in such areas as business, mass communications, political science and sociology. We embody the teacher-scholar model which focuses on enhancing communication competence and adaptability, both of which are critical components of a diverse and inclusive society.
