Early Entry MS in Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry offers undergraduate students the opportunity to begin coursework toward the Master of Science during the senior year of their Bachelor of Science program. Students with senior-level status (at least 90 semester hours) and an overall GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale may be admitted to the early entry MS program, allowing them to earn 24 hours of graduate-level credit (400- and 500-level) during their combined senior and graduate years.
An application for degree-seeking status as a graduate student must be approved by the Graduate School and the Graduate Committee in Chemistry. A program outline must also be submitted for approval by the Graduate Dean and the director of the graduate program in chemistry prior to enrollment in any courses in order to be included as a part of the master's program. Official admission to the program and to classified graduate status is made only after the award of the baccalaureate degree. In no case will a graduate degree be conferred before all requirements for both degrees have been completed.
Please note: Only current SIUE students are eligible for this program.
