Dickinson - (ca. 1899-1961). One box, one scrapbook. The Katherine V. Dickinson
collection consists of memoriabilia of the career of an Alton, Illinois, music teacher of the early twentieth century.
These memorabilia were assembled as part of a project to prepare a memorial tothe late Miss Dicinson. The result of that project,
To K.V.D. With Love, containing a sketch of Miss Dickinson's life and a collection of tributes by her former pupils,
is included (typescript, proof sheets, and finished book) in the Dickinson collection. The accompanying memorabilia are assembled
in a scrap book prepared by members of Miss Dickinson's Camerata Chorus under the direction of DeLafayette Reid. The scrapbook
contains such materials as the ms. constitution and by-laws of the Camerata Chorus, a ms. history of the society, minutes of meetings
1899-1918, recital programs of Miss Dickinson's pupils, 1900-1917, newspaper clippings relating to Camerata Chorus productions
and activities, 1902-1920, letters from Miss Dickinson to members of the chorus, etc. An inventory of the Dickinson collection
is located in the inventory binder.
