The library of Ben Rader, a popular dance and theatre orchestra
director in St. Louis from the 1920s to the 1950s, was donated to
Lovejoy Library by its purchaser, Russ David, in 1968. The collection,
which has its own card index, contains about 15,000 standard orchestral
scores and playing parts of popular and semi-classical music, including
3000 arrangements for cinema orchestra.
