Grading Scheme: Best 2 of 3 50-point exams 100

Homework (see below) 60

Final Exam (M December 10, 6:30-8:10) 100

T O T A L 260

Letter grades will be assigned as follows:

90%-100% A; 80%-90% B; 70%-80% C; 60%-70% D; 0%-60% E

Homework: Two types of homework assignments will be made. First, about 40 problems will be assigned in each chapter which will not be collected for grading. I expect you to do them and the exams will be much like some of these problems. Second, about 10 problems per chapter, for a total of 60, will be assigned and collected for grading. Each problem is worth 1 point and you may submit homework at any time. If your solution is perfect (correct, complete, and well-written) you will receive full credit; otherwise you will receive no credit for the problem. You may resubmit a homework problem any number of times until it is perfect.

Begin each problem on a separate sheet of paper. Write your name in the upper right hand corner. Below your name indicate the reference number of the problem by writing "Reference # n."

Here are the homework assignments for Chapter 1.
