Carolina Rocha was born in Rosario, Argentina. She completed her BA in History at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina. She has a Master and PhD. from the University of Texas in Austin. Her dissertation explored the social construction of memory after the trauma of state-inflicted violence during the most recent military dictatorship. Rocha's research interests also include film studies and contemporary Southern Cone popular culture. Her articles have been published in Revista de Estudios Hispánicos, Nuestra América, Studies in Latin American Popular Culture and Ciberletras, among many others.
