CCSVP Director Dennis Mares Appears on KMOV News 4
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's Dennis Mares, PhD, professor of criminal justice and Director of Center for Crime Science and Violence Prevention (CCSVP) recently appeared on KMOV News 4 to share his expertise on ShotSpotter technology and the integration of police response.
Mares co-authored a study that reviewed ShotSpotter data in St. Louis from 2008 to 2018 and conducted a similar study in Cincinnati in 2017 to 2020.
CCSVP's mission is to assist all stakeholders in the criminal justice field in their efforts to reduce crime and violence. Services include data analytics, crime analysis, mapping and supporting various agencies in their efforts to improve justice and public safety.
