Students and Alumni put their Best Foot Forward at SIUE’s Spring Career Fair
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville students and alumni once again had the opportunity to look for employment, internships, educational advancement and more during the SIUE Career Development Center’s (CDC) annual two-day spring Career Fair.
“It is important to keep hosting the career fairs to connect our students and alumni with employers,” said Carrie Smolar, CDC assistant director. “This opportunity gives students and alumni a chance to network with employers and learn more about companies hiring in their field.”
While the numbers are not finalized, Smolar estimated that more than 800 students and alumni and approximately 160 employers turned out for the fair.
“During the fair, our students and alumni had a chance to showcase their skills and education,” said Smolar. “For the employers, it gave them a chance to display their company and connect with students in person.”
Several employers returned to SIUE on Friday, March 8 to conduct on-campus interviews with those students and alumni they met at the career fair.
