Annual SIUE Day Draws Community Leaders
Nearly 200 community leaders and business people attended the 10th annual SIUE Day community event Thursday, Oct. 15, at Dunham Hall on the SIUE campus.
The Illinois Business Journal sponsored the breakfast affair. IBJ Editor and Partner Dennis Grubaugh, and President and Publisher Al Ortbals represented the publication, which has been a sponsor since the event’s inception. Grubaugh served as chair of this year’s event. Grubaugh and his three children are all SIUE alums.
Vice Chancellor for University Advancement Rachel Stack served as emcee. After SIUE Interim Chancellor Stephen Hansen welcomed the crowd and thanked them for their continued support, College of Arts and Sciences Dean Greg Budzban addressed the gathering and spoke of working together in the future to benefit both SIUE and the surrounding community.
The event is designed as a networking opportunity for community business leaders allowing them to connect with key SIUE personnel and learn more ways to partner with the University.
