SIUE Engineering Alumna Awarded Engineer of the Year at Boeing
Jessica Sorrill, a 2010 mechanical engineering alumna of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, was awarded the 2014 Engineer of the Year/Engineering Excellence Award at Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in St. Louis. Sorrill received the award at a ceremony held during Engineers Week Feb. 23-27.
Sorrill was recognized for implementing new design and assembly methods on the Talon Hate Program, which led to a significantly reduced build cycle. In addition, she was integral to the successful migration of Station 1 and 9 Pylon and Adapter to a foreign supplier.
