General Assistantship (0111-2024)

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of child development and family systems
• Experience, interest, and proficiency in social media content creation and distribution. Promoting ECC and family resources including CCAMPIS grant
• Preferred experience with Microsoft suite including MS Teams, Canva, Get Involved
• Experience coordinating family events.
• Organized, self-motivated, able to anticipate the needs of the department/event
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Comfortable/confidence answering phones and meeting guests
• Ability to work long days, monthly evening family support, all while staying within the agreed upon hours per week.

Position Description

 • Support student parents by increasing their knowledge of child development and strengthening their parenting skills through formal and informal programming.
• Work with families to determine what types of resources they may qualify for such as CCAMPIS, CCAP, assist with paperwork and applications
• Assist in family involvement event planning, preparation, and management
• Generating and maintaining online registration
• Preparing and planning event activities and materials
• Assist in event promotions using social media
• Helping with overall social engagement strategies
• Maintaining event records and recording attendance of registrants
• Supporting and monitoring student parent’s academic needs, including monthly check-ins.
Other Duties:
• Making website updates as needed
• Answering phone lines
• Other duties as needed
