Illinois Scholarships
These scholarships are administered by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC).
Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship
(currently not available)
The Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship provides scholarships to academically exceptional high school graduates who show promise of continued academic excellence. A Byrd Scholar may receive up to $1,500 (not to exceed the cost of attendance) for each academic year, up to a maximum of four years of study. The scholarship is not limited to tuition and fees.
Awarding of Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarships is subject to federal funding.
Applications are to be received by ISAC on or before January 15 preceding the academic year for which the scholarship is being requested.

Golden Apple Scholarship of Illinois Up to $23,000 in Tuition Assistance
The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois program is a scholarship program that identifies talented high school seniors, as well as first and second-year college students who have the promise and drive to be excellent teachers in schools-of-need. This award is open to U.S. citizens, eligible non-citizens, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Please click here to apply.

Golden Apple Scholars commit to teaching for five years in an Illinois school-of-need after college, making a difference where it counts.

Illinois Special Education Teacher Waiver Program
The Illinois Special Education Teacher Tuition Waiver Program provides tuition waivers to current teachers and academically talented students pursuing careers in any area of special education as a public, private or parochial elementary or secondary school teacher in Illinois.
Applications must be received by ISAC on or before March 1 immediately preceding the academic year for which the tuition waiver is being requested.

Illinois Merit Recognition
(currently not available)
The Merit Recognition Program provides a one-time, $1,000 award to qualified Illinois high school students who ranked in the top 5 percent of their class at the end of the seventh semester. This scholarship can be used for payment of tuition, fees, and other educational expenses at approved Illinois institutions.
Eligible students should contact their high school guidance office or ISAC for complete information.
Minority Teachers of Illinois
The Minority Teachers Scholarship Program provides scholarships of up to $5,000 per year to assist individuals of African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, or Native American origin who plan to become teachers at the preschool, elementary, or high school level. Students receiving this scholarship must fulfill a teaching commitment by teaching full time one year for each year of assistance received. The teaching agreement must be fulfilled at a school in which no less than 30 percent of those enrolled are minority students. If the teaching commitment is not fulfilled, the scholarship converts to a loan.

Sallie Mae provides several different types of scholarships for students. Scholarships offered are: Unmet Need, First in My Family, American Dream, and 911 Education Fund. Register for free access to 6 million scholarships worth up to $30 billion.

Greater East St. Louis Scholarship Program
This scholarship is offered to incoming freshmen with financial need who resides in East St Louis or Brooklyn, Illinois. The student must have a 2.5 high school gpa and plan to enroll in full time studies at an accredited college or university. For more information or to apply, please visit www.estlfund.org
NSF / Noyce Scholarship Program
Recipients of this scholarship are committed to teaching at SLPS two years for each year the scholarship is received.

Madison County Community Development Block Grant
This grant is offered to financially needy students who meet the CSBG poverty level guidelines and reside in Madison County. The students must have high academic attainment or potential and have maintained a 3.00 gpa out of a 4.00 gpa if a previous recipient of this award.

Private Scholarships
The Hagan Scholarship Foundation
The first four years following high school graduation usually determine the future course of a person’s career. If you are in need of financial assistance in order to attend college and meet the eligibility criteria for a Hagan Scholarship invest in yourself and your future and apply for a scholarship. Hagan Scholarship recipients are currently attending ninety seven different colleges and universities.
Recipients of a Hagan Scholarship will join a distinguished group of high achieving students who aspire to obtain a college education in order to realize their full potential. The dollar amount of each Hagan Scholarship will vary up to $5000 per semester. Each scholarship is renewable for up to seven additional semesters if the recipient fulfills the renewal criteria. The average value of a four year Hagan Scholarship is over $24,000.
The award of a Hagan Scholarship is intended to make a college education affordable and will provide each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt free.

Advocate Good Sheperd Hospital
The Auxiliary of Good Shepherd Hospital is offering scholarships for students residing in the hospital service area who will be attending school, and pursuing an education in the health care field. The service area includes the following zip codes: 60010, 60012, 60013, 60014, 60021, 60042, 60047, 60051, 60060, 60073, 60084, 60098, 60102, 60110, and 60156.
The number of scholarships awarded will depend upon the number and qualifications of applicants. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of attitude, education, leadership, citizenship, personality and financial need.
Applications must be postmarked or hand delivered and filed with the Scholarship Committee by April 30th. Interviews will be scheduled in mid-May.

AmeriCorps Segal Education Award
AmeriCorps is a federal funded organization dedicated to improving the communities which it serves. They host scholarship options including the Segal Education Award that can cover the cost of attending SIUE. The applicants must be a citizen of the U.S., a United States national, or legal permanent resident of the United States, be at least 17 years of age, obtained a high school diploma, and participate in the AmeriCorps program (includes, but not limited to tutoring and mentoring disadvantaged youth (The America Reads program, part of the AmeriCorps program, allows tutors to receive an hourly paycheck using their Federal Work-Study dollars, as well as the scholarship which other members receive. To find out if you are eligible, contact us via the information below.), fighting illiteracy, improving health services, building affordable housing, teaching computer skills, cleaning parks and streams, management or operating after-school programs, or helping communities respond to disasters. Anderson Auxiliary Scholarship
Four students will be selected each year of which will be granted for a $1000.00 scholarship to be applied toward educational expenses (tuition, books, and fees). These students must be legal residents of the state of Illinois and reside in Madison, St. Clair or adjacent counties. All Anderson Hospital employees, however; qualify regardless of place of residence. The college to be attended need not be an Illinois institution; however, it must be accredited.
To be eligible for consideration, students must be enrolled at least half-time in a health occupation program at an accredited college or university.
Applications are available in the Office of Student Financial Aid. Submit completed application to Anderson Hospital.
Anderson Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship
Three students will each be selected for a $1000.00 scholarship to be applied toward educational expenses (tuition, books, and fees). These students must be legal residents of the State of Illinois and reside in Madison or St. Clair Counties. The college to be attended need not be an Illinois institution; however, it must be accredited.
To be eligible for consideration, students must be enrolled at least half time in a health occupation program at an accredited college or university.
Applications are available in the Office of Student Financial Aid. Submit completed application to Anderson Hospital Medical Staff Office.
Illinois Hospital Research & Educational Foundation
IHREF scholarships are given on an academic year (4 quarters or 2 semesters), based on the student’s scholastic achievement, financial need and the availability of funds. The scholarship award is a value of $1,000 to be applied toward tuition, fees, or books.
Any student currently enrolled or accepted into a certificate or degree conferring hospital related health care sequence is eligible (such as medical schools, dental schools, nursing programs, pharmacy schools, radiology technology programs, occupation/physical/speech therapy, etc.) Students in general course of studies programs (i.e. pre-med, general education courses, liberal arts, etc.) are not eligible. Applicants enrolled in an associate degree or hospital-based program will be considered their first year (such as radiology techs, nuclear medicine techs, RNs, cardiac rehab techs, etc.) In order to be competitive, a 3.5 GPA out of 4 points or a 4.5 GPA out of 5 points is necessary. Applicants must be Illinois residents.

St. Elizabeth Health Foundation Scholarship Program
St. Elizabeth Health Foundation is dedicated to addressing health care needs in St. Clair and Madison County, Illinois by sponsoring health care occupations scholarships to qualified students of that area. This scholarship program has been established to assist only students enrolled in a recognized health care occupation program at an accredited institution. Awards up to $15,000 will be granted.
Residents of St. Clair or Madison County in Illinois who are current undergraduate of graduate students, or were previously enrolled undergraduate or graduate students and are returning to school are considered.

Illinois Legislative Caucus Foundation Scholarship
The Latino Caucus Foundation and the Black Caucus Foundation recognizes approximately twenty-five undergraduate scholarship recipients with a $2000 award. The application deadline is May 9, 2019. Here is a link to the scholarship page here.
Illinois Dream Fund Scholarships
The Illinois Dream Fund (ILDF) has been able to provide life-changing financial support to enable undocumented immigrants to successfully matriculate towards degree completion.
The scholarship is open to DACA and Non-DACA students who have a High school/GED or College minimum GPA of 2.5 (On a 4.0 scale); have resided with a parent, legal guardian or partner while attending high school or completing GED in Illinois, and have graduated high school or received the equivalent of a high school diploma (GED) in Illinois while having attended for at least three years. CEDA CSBG-funded Scholarship Program
CEDA's CSBG-funded Scholarship Program offers financial aid ranging from $500-$3000 for income eligible residents of suburban Cook County who demonstrate academic achievement, career potential and educational motivation.
Candidates must submit a complete scholarship application with all required documents and provide proof of residency and income eligibility (ranges from family size of 1 with monthly gross income of $2,265 up to family size 8 with monthly gross income of $7,772).
The application is available online beginning April 22 at www.CEDAorg.net. The application deadline is Friday, June 10, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. Additional documentation may be required.
