CE Graduate Students Acknowledged with Multiple Awards

We wish to congratulate Civil Engineering Graduate students Pourya Kargar Ghomesheh, Hamid Rostami, and Ravali Vennu on their recent awards.
Pourya Kargar Ghomesheh was the recipient of the Ohio Valley Chapter Thomas A. Buzek Scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic year. This scholarship includes an award of $3,000 as well as registration, travel, and lodging support to attend The International Association of Foundation Drilling (ADSC-IAFD) Annual Meeting. Pourya is currently studying towards his Ph.D. in Engineering Science. He is focusing on Geotechnical Engineering under the guidance of Dr. Abdolreza Osouli.
Hamid Rostami was recognized with a 2019 GeoConfluence Research Scholarship from the St. Louis Geo-Institute Chapter of the American Society of Engineers. This scholarship provides $800 of support for his research titled, “Quality Control of Soil Compaction Using Electrical Resistivity Method.” Hamid is pursuing his Ph.D. in Engineering Science. He is focusing on Geotechnical Engineering, also under the guidance of Dr. Osouli.
Ravali Vennu was awarded third place in the TEAM StL Transportation Fair and Poster Contest. TEAM StL is the Transportation Engineering Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, which is the local chapter for the Institute of Transportation Engineers. This award included a $100 scholarship. Ravali is pursuing her MS in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering. Her poster’s research was supervised by Dr. Yan Qi.
