SIUE Alumna Receives “Innovative Transportation Award”

Jerilyn Hassard (BSCE 1997) received the “Innovative Transportation Award” for her work on a project designing replacement approach structures for the Martin Luther King bridge. Her design included five spans of composite steel plate girders, one being curved. As the project lead, she coordinated with several agencies and craftily-negotiated various project changes and additions. Ms. Hassard is a Senior Project Manager at Modjeski and Masters in Edwardsville, IL. This award recognizes innovative transportation engineering projects that are female-led and was presented by the St. Louis section of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS).
